Base shoe moulding, also called shoe moulding, is a thin strip of moulding that runs along the bottom of the baseboard.
In addition to being a decorative element, it also conceals any unevenness or gaps between the baseboard and floor. Due to its sleek, narrow appearance, shoe moulding is often preferred over quarter round, another type of baseboard finishing trim.
Using base shoe moulding gives you a wide range of style options. A stain or paint can be used to match the floor or the baseboards.
